GateVest Welcomes H2O Fund SICAV as a Key Investor

BRATISLAVA — GateVest SICAV p.l.c. (“GateVest”) today announced that H2O FUND SICAV, a.s. (“H2O Fund”) has become one of the major investors in the GateVest Global Private Equity Fund. The partnership strengthens GateVest’s investment capacity and institutional base and supports broader access for Slovak and Czech qualified investors to private equity opportunities.

H2O Fund’s investment represents another significant step in GateVest’s development, following the support of the J&T Group. Beyond the capital commitment, the partnership includes the exchange of know-how between the two entities and strengthens GateVest financially, operationally and from a governance perspective.

Interest in private equity is increasing across Slovakia and the Czech Republic, while investor expectations around manager quality, access, transparency and regulatory discipline continue to rise. Current conditions, marked by geopolitical uncertainty, persistent inflationary pressure and more volatile public markets, further reinforce the value of professionally managed alternative investments built on specialist expertise, disciplined fund selection, financial capacity and a regulated framework.

We are pleased that, following the J&T Group, another significant investor has expressed its support for GateVest,” said Michael Kollar, Founder and CEO of GateVest. “The partnership with H2O Fund SICAV strengthens the capacity of our fund across financial, human-capital and governance dimensions, allowing us to bring further opportunities to our investors.

Our investment in GateVest confirms our investment strategy of identifying opportunities that are consistent with the fund’s philosophy, including in periods of elevated market volatility,” said Vazil Hudák, the Strategic Advisory Board Chairman of H2O Fund SICAV. “At the same time, it creates room for further development and increases GateVest’s investment capacity.

The partnership comes as demand for private equity continues to strengthen in Europe, and as investors in Central Europe, including Slovakia, increasingly seek diversification beyond public markets.
